A Purposeful Life and the Food Connection

Reflect on your life for a moment.

Can you say that you’ve lived it purposefully up to this point?

If not, then what’s holding you back?

Something else to think about is your nutritional intake. Would you consider your eating habits as healthy?

Hopefully so. If not, we’ll get to that topic later.

To achieve our dreams, we must overcome numerous obstacles, which require us to level up and realize our never-ending growth. When you begin to live life with intent, you send a bold message to yourself and the world. You take the reins and full control of your thoughts, actions, and happiness. Below you’ll discover what it means to have a purpose and why it’s so important to your daily living.

Discovering Your Purpose

Each of us plays a vital role on this planet. You can believe you live an impact-free life, however, the fact remains that you are simply mistaken. Rich or poor, from opposite side of the world, we are ultimately made up of the same things, all passed down from those before us. We contain countless abilities, functions, ideas, solutions and so much more.

What we’re capable of will always be far greater than what we ever discover, unless we truly push ourselves. And that is why as a being you must discover what your calling is. Many have claimed to regain a connection with their inner child when they discover what it is they are meant to do in life. Some people are born with giving hearts and know no selfishness, while some have a knack for numbers and understand mathematics like it’s their first language.

Like other animals on Earth, which exist for many reasons, you’re here to make the world a better place in some way. No matter how “low” one may seem in socio-economic status, everyone is really on the same level. You may liken the garbage man to a scavenger at the bottom of the food chain, but if it’s what he loves or feels he is meant to do, then he is indeed living his purpose. You can make fun of someone for performing “lowly” actions because it’s what they believe they exist for, but if you don’t know your own calling, then the joke’s actually on you for living an empty life.

How many times have you seen families and individuals who smile and live as if they have everything when they don’t have much at all? Winning, or losing, all of us play a role, and all of us are meant to lift one another higher. Every species helps its own kind—survival is the ultimate priority. Your role as a contributor, no matter how grand or minuscule can make all the difference this world needs to see. The smallest details make up the biggest pictures.

The hint to discovering your role in the world is to find out what positive thing/ability/talent you have that the world could use more of. Even if it’s just encouraging words, emotional art, a helping hand, or your personality. Take whatever it is, and share it with the world. All of this welcomes with a door to growth that is wide open.

How Food Plays a Part

Life is all a matter of how you choose to live it. Will you spend 50 years doing what is expected of you? Or, will you take the alternative route and make yourself happy by doing what you want to do?

As crazy as it may seem, what you eat can determine just where you are between those two decisions, and who you are living for. It’s no secret that most people struggle when adopting a new diet, and that speaks volumes about their discipline, self-control, and just who they are living for.

While clean eating may not solve all of your problems, it can definitely eliminate most of them and make it easier to rid yourself of other issues. A prime example of that is body image. Your body has a message that you need to read. It’s physical and mental! Whatever your mindset is, whatever your body rejects, it’s trying to tell you something, and what you eat is how you respond. Whether you struggle with your weight, acne, constipation, or even low confidence, what you put into your body will determine all, because you really are what you eat.

Conventional doughnuts and ice cream never made anyone feel good, besides the satisfaction of that sweet tooth craving. From a scientific point of view, your body gains little to no benefit as a result of ingesting this type of food. So, if you’re trying to see the positivity, in this case, there isn’t much there.

While you are free to follow whatever diet or eating patterns you feel are best for your body (because everyone is different), the following information shall be beneficial to you no matter what path you’ve chosen to take.

You can’t deny that you feel great after eating a salad. Sure, you may feel it to be a lackluster meal, but the problem is society has manipulated your perception of what is good and what is bad. A salad may seem boring, but it doesn’t have to lack in intensity, and can be as comparable as a meat-and-potatoes type of dish. In fact, clean eating doesn’t mean limiting yourself to salads or vegetables at all. It means being conscious of where your food came from, the worldwide impact you’re causing by consuming it, what’s in and on it, and how your body takes it. It is quite simple: eating what’s good for you will typically leave you feeling good mentally, physically, and emotionally, while the bad will often leave you paying a price of some kind.

Of course, it goes without saying that venturing from a clean eating kick will have its drawbacks as your body rejects things, and your old problems will make a return.

Once you’re able to tackle society-driven stigmas, like fruits and vegetables not being enough, you can make better choices for yourself. After all, nature gives us all that we really need. When you can control what you eat, you realize you’re in control of your actions and how you feel. When you can control your actions and how you feel, you learn to be mindful and embrace change and growth for not just yourself, but the world and others in it.

Gaining control of your life speaks volumes to those who are observing you. They’ll wonder how you’re so happy, why you feel so great, and if you could help them. You can’t help anyone else if you can’t help yourself. Sure, you can, but who wants help from someone once they realize that they’re going through the same problem and can’t find a solution? Lead by example, then create more leaders. It’s how we’re meant to thrive. Find your life’s purpose, welcome continued growth and change, keep your eating habits clean, and teach others how to do the same. They’ll only thank you for it.
